Successes

I have had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of GCSE students over my 11 years as a full time English Language and Literature teacher.

Here are a few headlines of my classes results from the most recent:

GCSE

2017
Top set class of 34 students
100% grade 9-6
11 grade 9s (out of 14 grade 9s across the whole department/cohort of approx. 450 students)
High residual (this means students in my class did better than expected)

2016
Set 2 class of 30
100% A-D

2015
Set 2 class of 32
100% A-D

2014
Top set class of 29
100% A*-C

During this time I was also the KS4 coordinator . I was in charge of exam entries, curriculum development and extra curricular opportunities.

2013
96% A-C (the 4% was a one student who was a school refuser)

A Level

2016
100% A**-C A Level English Language and Literature
One students in a class of 12 achieved A** and two achieved A grades. This was my first year of aching this course so I was very proud of our combined efforts and their achievements.

In June 2016 I was promoted to KS5 coordinator and Deputy Team Leader. As a result I was responsible for overseeing the entire A Level team and cohort of students until I left in 2018. During this time I redeveloped the exam entries, curriculum, updating the schemes of learning and online access, resources and the KS5 webface. As well as this I established a culture of sharing good practice, mentoring and enrichment for the KS5 students and working with the Year 12 and 13 Heads of Year to promote independent learning skills.
