AQA GCSE support
Are you struggling with gaining those extra marks on the AQA English Language (8700) and/or English Literature papers (8702)?

With 12 years experience, working as an English Language and Literature specialist in Secondary schools in the UK, I know how stressful and busy it can be. Despite your teacher’s best attempts to support you they might genuinely just not have the spare time to give you the one on one support you want and need. Or you might feel they are not supportive at all...
So where can you turn? Friends? Classmates? Tutor? Parents? Family? But sometimes, they don’t have the time or the answer either.
And you are inundated, aren’t you? All your teachers, the head of year and the headteacher keep reminding you how they “expect the best” from you, you might be getting the same high expectations from home and I am sure that you want to do your best. But what can you do? HOW can you be ‘your best’?
It can be frustrating, can’t it? Maybe there are distractions? Perhaps some things are confusing? There’s too much to learn and to know and to remember? The exams are complicated! Do you run out of out of time?

I have a track record of success as an English Teacher, specializing in top sets Language and Literature and high attaining students (grade 8/9). I have helped hundreds of students achieve their goals, and even exceed them! In addition, I have held the position of GCSE coordinator and KS5 Deputy Team Leader - this means I have worked alongside AQA and been responsible for department curriculum planning, training and marking. So I have ‘behind the scenes’ knowledge and know how to personally guide you towards success,
Furthermore, I am intuitive, have experience of coaching and mentoring students at GCSE and A level, and what’s more I have a validated understanding of ‘Child Development’ (course completed October 2018 with Utrecht University with a 100% pass rate*). Consequently, I will work alongside you to facilitate your leaning and progress in a supportive and productive way, responding and listening to your concerns, needs and queries so that you feel a strong sense of autonomy and ownership over your achievements. And you will make achievements.
Over the course of your tutoring period, we will skype weekly, I will offer you ongoing support with essay writing and assignments, and in the run up to mocks and exams I can guide you with revision. As well as this I will be available via email to answer any questions you might have.
